While many celebrate Eid with family, food, and festivity, something quietly powerful happens on the streets of Tamale each year, an act of kindness that turns celebration into compassion.
Eid with Smiles, an annual outreach by the BASHA1 Foundation, is more than just an event, it’s a movement of humanity. This year’s edition, held on Sunday, 22nd March, just a day after Eid, brought together passionate volunteers with one simple mission: to share joy where it’s needed most.

As the city settled into post-Eid calm, volunteers took to the streets, carrying not just meals but warmth, dignity, and smiles. One by one, they reached out to vulnerable individuals people often overlooked offering food and a moment of connection that many rarely experience.
But the day didn’t end there.
Later, the team made their way to the Tamale Orphanage Home, where the atmosphere shifted from quiet compassion to vibrant celebration. Laughter filled the air. Music played. Children smiled. For a few beautiful hours, the orphanage transformed into a space of belonging, joy, and shared humanity.
What makes Eid with Smiles truly special is not just the food distributed or the party organized but the intent behind it. It’s about reminding every person, regardless of their situation, that they are seen, valued, and loved.

🌍 Why This Matters
In a world where many are struggling silently, initiatives like this serve as a powerful reminder:
Small acts of kindness can create lasting impact.
But sustaining this impact requires more than goodwill it needs support.

🤝 A Call to Kind Hearts
Behind every meal shared and every smile created is the generosity of people who choose to care.
If you’ve ever wondered how you can make a difference, this is one of those moments.
Supporting initiatives like Eid with Smiles means:
- Feeding someone who might otherwise go hungry
- Giving a child a reason to smile
- Being part of something bigger than yourself
Because sometimes, the greatest gift we can give… is simply showing up for others.
Eid with Smiles is not just an event. It’s a reminder, that kindness still lives among us. 💛
