Reading Clinic Book Picnic at Botanga Ranch Celebrates Ghana’s 69th Independence Day

In celebration of Ghana’s 69th Independence Day, the Reading Clinic successfully organized another exciting outdoor learning program for children and their parents called “The Book Picnic.” The event took place at the beautiful Botanga Ranch Stables, bringing together families for a day filled with reading, learning, and fun activities.

The Book Picnic was designed to help children learn outside the traditional classroom environment while enjoying nature and family bonding. During the reading sessions, children were grouped into different classes where facilitators guided them through engaging discussions and storytelling.

Some of the important topics discussed included “Good listeners become leaders,” which encouraged children to develop strong listening skills as a foundation for leadership. Another session explored “Character – who you are when nobody is watching,” teaching young participants the importance of integrity and personal values.

While the children were engaged in learning activities, parents also participated in a special session that highlighted 12 common behaviors that can unintentionally lower children’s confidence. The discussion created an opportunity for parents to reflect on how they communicate with and support their children.

After the educational sessions, the atmosphere shifted to pure excitement as children enjoyed horse riding, football, and other outdoor games around the ranch.

Participants were also served delicious meals provided by Indomie and Dels Cuisine, making the experience even more enjoyable for families.

The event not only celebrated Ghana’s independence but also reinforced the importance of reading, character building, and strong family relationships in shaping the next generation.

The Reading Clinic continues to create innovative programs that make learning fun, practical, and meaningful for children and parents alike.
