This week, our community was graced with a celebration of love, faith, and commitment. In a beautiful Islamic ceremony, Dr. Abdul Rahman Gomda and Jalila were joined together in the sacred bond of marriage, marking the beginning of their shared journey as husband and wife.
Marriage in Islam is more than a social contract; it is a profound covenant of mercy, companionship, and peace. It is beautifully captured in the Holy Quran:
“And one of His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves so that you may find comfort in them. And He has placed between you compassion and mercy. Surely in this are signs for people who reflect.” (Surah Ar-Rum 30:21)
This verse illuminates the divine wisdom behind marriage a union designed for mutual comfort, infused with compassion (rahmah) and mercy (mawaddah). It is a partnership where two souls become a source of strength, tranquility, and spiritual growth for one another.
As the couple embarks on this blessed path, we pray that their home is filled with the peace (sakinah) described in the Quran, and that their love continues to grow in faith and devotion.
