Every journey begins with a single sound and mine began in 2009, when I was first introduced to the world of radio. At the time, I had no idea that sitting behind a microphone would change the course of my life. What started as curiosity slowly became a passion that shaped my career and identity.
I didn’t have a professional voice coach in the beginning. I listened, observed, and learned from those who came before me. I spent countless hours practicing, recording, deleting, and starting over again. Each mistake taught me something new.
Thanks to Allah, I was blessed with a natural voice that made the process smoother but I quickly learned that a good voice alone isn’t enough. It takes discipline, consistency, and listening skills to truly master the art.
Over time, I became the voice behind some of Ghana’s most trusted brands and institutions including the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Hisense, Voice of America, Parliament of Ghana, and CalBank, among others. Each project reminded me that the voice is not just sound it’s emotion, storytelling, and connection.

🎧 Voice-Over Tips for Beginners
If you’re thinking of starting your own voice-over journey, here are a few lessons from my experience:
- Start with what you have : You don’t need fancy equipment at first. A quiet room and a smartphone can get you started.
- Listen more than you speak : Pay attention to how professionals deliver emotion, pauses, and energy in their recordings.
- Practice daily : Read scripts aloud every day. Record yourself. Listen. Improve. Repeat.
- Invest in training : If possible, join a voice-over class or workshop. Learning from others shortens your learning curve.
- Build your demo reel: Create a short audio sample of your best work to showcase your range and style.
- Be patient: Voice-over is a journey of growth. The more you practice, the better you become.

💬 Final Thoughts
My journey hasn’t been perfect but it’s been meaningful. Each word I record carries a piece of where I started: a young dreamer in a radio booth, curious about how voices could move hearts.
Today, I use that same passion to train the next generation of voice artists in Northern Ghana helping them find confidence in their voices and purpose in their sound.
If you have a voice and a story, you already have what it takes. All that’s left is to begin.
